Internship Exploring General Business & Beyond Maternity Leave Coverage — ~3 Month Engagement MBA or upper-level undergraduate business student About the RoleFourward Ventures is seeking a sharp, organized, and self-directed business intern to provide critical coverage during a senior team member’s maternity leave. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role with direct exposure to investors, portfolio companies, and the day-to-day operations of an active fund. You will keep core work streams moving, own recurring reporting, and serve as a key node of internal coordination during a three-month window where continuity matters.
This is a paid engagement designed for an MBA summer intern or a strong upper-level undergraduate business student. Hybrid arrangements are available. Start date is flexible to align with academic calendars.

- Prepare and update recurring investor and LP reporting, including quarterly updates, capital account summaries, and portfolio performance snapshots.
- Pull, clean, and synthesize portfolio data (KPIs, valuations, runway, milestones) into clear, decision-ready outputs.
- Build and refine Excel/Google Sheets models and dashboards used to track fund-level.
- Draft sections of investor memos, LP letters, and internal updates; turn rough inputs into.
- Conduct light market and competitive research to support diligence conversations and portfolio company check-ins.
- Serve as the day-to-day operational point of contact for ongoing IR work streams during the leave window.
- Maintain and update the CRM, investor pipeline, and shared data room; ensure documents are filed, tagged, and current.
- Coordinate meeting logistics for LP calls, portfolio reviews, and investment team meetings, including agenda prep and follow-ups.
- Manage signature workflows, NDA tracking, and document execution across counter parties.
- Triage the IR inbox and flag time-sensitive items to the appropriate partner.
- Own a short list of defined projects end-to-end: scope, timeline, stakeholders, and delivery.
- Drive status updates across the team — know what is moving, what is stuck, and what needs a decision.
- Translate ambiguous requests into concrete next steps and keep work streams unblocked while the role is on leave.
- Document recurring processes so the team has a clean handoff at the end of the engagement.
- Direct exposure to how a venture fund actually operates — across investment, LP, and portfolio sides.
- A real seat at the table: this is coverage work, not shadowing. Your output ships.
- Mentorship and end-of-engagement feedback geared toward post-MBA / post-grad recruiting.
