New York State legislative District office in Brooklyn, NY – is seeking a skilled and proactive Communications Director to manage all aspects of media, messaging, and public engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and experienced in navigating fast‑paced political or government environments.

This full‑time or part‑time in‑person position involves collaboration with internal staff, press outlets, and community stakeholders across both district and Albany‑based responsibilities.

Monday‑Friday 9 a‑5 p

$45,000 – $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

* Current range reflects full‑time compensation. Part‑time salary will be determined based on hours and experience and shared upon inquiry.

• 2–3+ years of experience in government, journalism, advocacy, or political comms
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with New York’s legislative and media environment
• Proficiency with tools such as Canva, Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, social scheduling tools, etc.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in high‑pressure settings.
• Ability to travel periodically.
