Internship Exploring General Business & Beyond

Please note: This role and many others are offered through the Southern Hospitality Internship Program, a local government nonprofit program for multiple businesses and internships near Gatlinburg, TN. All roles include competitive pay, housing, networking events, and a leadership track.

• Assist in all facets of the company when needed
• Perform utility work such as modifications of Guest and Employee areas as needed
• Perform pre-season preparations of outside areas and other maintenance-related tasks
• Opening and closing all outside activities and parking lots when needed
• Fully knowledgeable of all operational aspects of our company and how the workflow is setup to be as efficient as possible; brings suggestions on how to automate and improve processes
• Oversight and approving some of the company-wide purchases and working closely with the purchasing office
• Communicate with Upper Management to improve company operations
• Works closely with the President/CEO and VP of Finance and Administration to implement and revise operational policies and guidelines for the organization

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, or a related field
• A strong candidate will have the ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• The ideal intern should be an organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated person with great customer service skills
• Proven success working with a team in a professional environment or at a college-level project/assignment
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff
