About Freebeo

Freebeo is a location-based mobile game. Players complete real-world challenges - visiting geofenced locations, scanning QR codes, completing photo tasks - to earn points. Points can be spent at in-person redemption events for a chance to win gift cards donated by local businesses. We're a small, early-stage local startup looking for our first Partnership & Events Coordinator.

Position Summary

We're hiring a part-time contractor to lead one Freebeo location from the ground up - creating game content, running a recurring community event, and building real relationships with local businesses. If you're looking for part-time work that actually looks good on a resume - not just another retail shift - this is a chance to say you managed local partnerships and ran community events for an early-stage startup, with real ownership over the results.

It's a flexible, self-directed role, and your earning potential grows directly with how well you build out your location
- there's no upper limit on what you can earn from local business partnerships you bring in.

Responsibilities

• Create and publish game challenges using Freebeo's online content portal (approx. 4-5 hours/month, flexible timing)
• Host a recurring in-person redemption event at the assigned location approximately every two weeks, minimum one hour in length (approx. 2 hours/week)
• Establish relationships with nearby local businesses to secure event sponsor ships and encourage their participation on the platform

Compensation

• Base pay: approximately $150-250/month
  , paid per completed deliverable (per event hosted, per challenge published) - this is a part-time, low-hour commitment (roughly 10-13 hours/month total).
• No cap on total earnings beyond the base. In addition to base pay, you earn a percentage of local business revenue you generate at your location - the more partnerships you build, the more you make, with no ceiling.
• Exact base rate and commission percentage discussed during the interview process
• Paid as a 1099 independent contractor; you set your own schedule within the deliverable requirements above

Qualifications

• Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Based in or near the Portland metro area, ideally near the assigned park/neighborhood
• Comfortable approaching and speaking with members of the public and local business owners
• Interest in marketing, entrepreneurship, small business, or community engagement is a plus
• No specific degree or year in school required; open to students, recent graduates, and other candidates who fit the above
