New York City Summer Intern (Project Management & Operations)

We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Summer Intern with an interest in construction and project management to join our organzation. Construction is a highly creative field—requiring problem-solving, design sensitivity, collaboration and attention to detail and preparation. We are looking for individuals who speak up, ask questions, participate, and offer to take initiative in a fast-paced environment. We value curiosity, self-direction, and fresh perspectives—interns are encouraged to contribute ideas and be an active part of the team.

This role offers hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of construction projects, supporting Project Managers in driving organization, communication, and execution across active job sites, in addition to performing office tasks to assist / support our firm. This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience within a fast-paced environment, working closely with project teams, field staff, and internal departments.

Sample Responsibilities

Project Start-Up

• Review project scope alongside the Project Manager or Asst. Project Manager
• Assist in creating and maintaining Submittal Logs
• Develop and organize subcontractor directories with key contacts
• Request, track, and distribute project submittals (shop drawings, samples, etc.)
• Maintain accurate Submittal Logs and follow up with subcontractors and design teams (A&E) for timely approvals
• Distribute approved submittals to field teams and maintain organized records

Project Execution

• Attend and document weekly construction and subcontractor meetings
• Maintain RFI and Change Order logs
• Ensure job sites are equipped with current drawings, permits, and approved documents
• Assist with subcontractor pricing and change order preparation
• Support project scheduling and coordination of updates across teams

Project Close-Out

• Coordinate collection of close-out documentation (as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals)
• Assist in scheduling inspections and obtaining final sign-offs
• Support preparation of close-out packages for clients and third-party stakeholders

Additional Exposure & Responsibilities

• Interns will be encouraged to visit active job sites and may do so regularly throughout the internship
• Job site hours typically run from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; interns spending full days on-site are expected to align with these hours
• Provide support across departments as needed, including Marketing, Administrative, and Operations initiatives
• Assist with data entry, organization, and internal coordination efforts

Qualifications & Skills

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
• Must be based in New York City and available in person Monday through Friday in our Midtown office.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Procore or CAD is a plus
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a team-driven environment

This internship is designed for individuals who want meaningful, hands-on experience and exposure to how projects are built—from preconstruction through close-out.
