About Ineffable Films

Inef... (shortened for brevity) The nonprofit aims to open the film industry to emerging and underserved storytellers through mentorship, festival access, hands‑on education, and community screenings across the U.S. and globally.

The Role

We are looking for a Sound & Audio Post Intern who works in the Fairlight page of DaVinci Resolve. You will edit, mix, and finish audio for our Global Lens Film Series, short‑form content, and the films we support—cleaning dialogue, balancing levels, building sound, and delivering a polished mix. You’ll also be part of a community of filmmakers where you can sharpen your craft, get feedback, and lend your ear to creators we support.

What

you’ll do
  • Edit and mix dialogue, music, and effects in Fairlight
  • Clean up and balance audio for a clear, professional sound
  • Build sound design and atmosphere where a piece needs it
  • Deliver consistent, well‑leveled mixes across formats
  • Collaborate with our video and creative leads on the sound of each piece
  • Engage in the community, supporting other filmmakers with their audio
What you’ll walk away with
  • Published sound credits from a mission‑driven film nonprofit
  • A reel of real mixed work that has reached a growing audience
  • Feedback and mentorship from our team and community
  • A space to develop your own projects alongside other filmmakers
  • A flexible, remote‑friendly schedule that fits around your classes
Who we’re looking for
  • A sound artist comfortable in Fairlight (or eager to specialize in it) with a good ear for mix and clarity
  • Experience with dialogue editing, mixing, or sound design
  • An understanding of how sound shapes mood and story
  • Reliability, self‑direction, and excitement for film and storytelling
  • No degree required. We care about your ear and your work, not your resume
