Located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York, Camp Echo Lake is a premier co‑ed residential camp that has been a leader in the camping industry since 1946. We are a “Human Development” camp, dedicated to fostering a supportive community where campers and staff alike can grow, lead, and build lifelong connections.

Are you a natural leader who loves the outdoors? As an Outdoor Adventure Specialist, you aren’t just a “camp counselor”—you are an educator and a facilitator of growth. You will guide campers through high‑energy, high‑impact activities designed to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for students majoring in Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism, Education, Psychology, or Environmental Science.

• Instruction & Facilitation: Lead and instruct campers (ages 7‑16) in various outdoor disciplines, including rock climbing, high/low ropes courses, zip‑lining, hiking, and outdoor living skills (fire building, orienteering).
• Safety Management: Maintain the highest safety standards for all equipment and participants; conduct daily inspections of the challenge course and gear.
• Program Development: Create engaging, age‑appropriate lesson plans that challenge campers and foster a “growth mindset.”
• Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, guiding campers through physical and emotional challenges and celebrating their successes.
