Whizara is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to lead engaging ASL classes for K–12 students this summer in Vista, CA.

This is an excellent opportunity for ASL users of all levels, heritage signers, college students, recent graduates, aspiring educators, and professionals looking for meaningful part-time work that makes a real impact.

Help students develop foundational communication skills while creating a fun, interactive, and inclusive learning environment where young learners can build confidence and appreciation for American Sign Language and Deaf culture.

No lesson planning required—we provide the curriculum and materials so you can focus on teaching and connecting with students.

• Teach ASL classes for K–12 students using Whizara’s structured curriculum
• Introduce students to American Sign Language, finger spelling, basic vocabulary, and everyday conversation
• Share age-appropriate lessons about Deaf culture and the importance of inclusive communication
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Encourage student participation through interactive activities and games
• Support students with different learning styles and abilities
• Monitor student progress and provide positive feedback
• Maintain classroom organization and effective behavior management
• Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and program coordinators
• Arrive prepared and ready to deliver an exceptional classroom experience

• Experience or proficiency in American Sign Language (beginner, intermediate, advanced, or heritage signers are welcome)
• Passion for language learning, communication, and working with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, patient, and professional attitude
• Ability to lead and engage groups of K–12 students
• Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or youth experience is a plus—but not required
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in the classroom
