Kids Peace is a private charity dedicated to supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families, and communities. Since 1882, we have offered psychiatric hospital services, residential treatment programs, accredited educational services, and foster care programs. The Teacher is responsible for providing education to Kids Peace students within a highly structured, therapeutic, and safe classroom environment. This role works collaboratively with the Mental Health Worker to offer academic instruction as well as counseling support within the classroom setting. The Teacher also participates in family sessions, discharge meetings, IEP meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive treatment planning and student progress.

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or appropriate discipline required.

2. PA Teaching Certificate required.

3. Valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid Certification, and Certification of current Kids Peace approved crisis intervention and restraint methodology (Level I or II preferred, Observer status minimally required).

3. Experience with acute, emotionally challenged children or adolescent’s preferred.

4. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
