Job Summary

Assist the Office of Financial Aid in the administration of all Federal, State and Institutional Financial Aid. This is a 12-month full-time position with benefits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ experience in financial aid.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Must be capable of working independently as well as working in conjunction with others (including staff from Student Accounts and Admissions) to foster a team‑oriented environment.
  • Initiative, problem solving capabilities, and persistence required.
  • College and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic to learn and grow in this role and willing to gradually take on more responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of undergraduate day students, including all undergraduate online and graduate students with respect to preparing awards, adjustments, need analysis, verification and counseling students and parents, if applicable.
  • Manage and reconcile the Massachusetts state grant programs.
  • Perform exit interviews and perform analysis on average debt of graduating students.
  • Certify and process all alternative student loans.
  • Process all internal employee benefit programs.
  • Aid the Chief Financial Officer in identifying students not meeting satisfactory academic progress, perform satisfactory academic progress review for financial aid recipients and coordinate and conduct financial aid appeals meetings.
  • Participate in open houses and accept student day events, which typically includes two to three weekend days a year.
  • Disburse financial aid as required for our undergraduate online and graduate students.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Aid Office.
Physical Job Components
  • Light to moderate lifting of files, supplies, boxes of literature and office materials.
  • Able to use office and telecommunications equipment.
  • Walking is required, traveling may be expected at times.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and orally.
