This position provides administrative direction and facilitation in the conduct of a range of group and individual standardized testing, both automated and manual, administered through the Student Success Center. This position will coordinate recruitment efforts for annual student bootcamps and plan and implement workshops held by the Student Success Center for students in many different areas. This position is also responsible for implementing and executing the College tutoring services program and is responsible for organizing tutorial support for all Bridge Valley students.
This position will assess academic needs and create academic support and tutoring services for students. This position will also provide supervision and training to tutors and monitor progress.
This position is full-time, benefits-eligible, non-classified, and non-exempt. Salary offer will be commensurate with education and experience.
Examples of Duties:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of tutoring as assigned and coordinate remote, online, and on campus tutoring and support services
- Provide tutoring in specific subjects as needed
- Collaborate with academic departments and student services including deans, department chairs, program coordinators, academic advisors, and other campus stakeholders to identify a variety of opportunities to provide tutoring and academic services
- Oversee submission and approval of student tutor timesheets and tracking reports
- Hire, train and evaluate tutors; schedule and assign work; establish priorities and adjust assignments to ensure effectiveness and professionalism in tutoring
- Develop and monitor recruiting and registration procedures for tutors; monitor the work of tutors and provide useful methods and techniques; investigate concerns expressed by students regarding tutor assistance, and resolve or refer matters to the Dean of Students
- Collaborate with academic departments to determine subjects in which students need tutoring assistance
- Assess the tutoring program and make changes as needed to continue to grow the program
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate campus-wide tutoring data, including the number of tutees, tutee demographics, tutored, success rates for tutees in specific courses, etc.
- Prepare all associated documentation
- Provide general assistance to students in the Student Success Center
- Provide general administrative assistance, to include answering phone inquiries and provision of information and assistance to walk-in students.
- Maintain an up-to-date tutoring schedule and distribute to the campus community
- Create and implement student success workshops on topics of study skills, time management, etc.
- Assist with orientation, open house, and other student affairs events as needed
- Greet and assist all students entering the tutoring center
- Administer and oversee all testing services including accessibility testing, online class proctoring, and revenue testing
- Check examinee identification and rosters, distribute test materials, and monitor the conduct of examinees
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure all administered tests are registered through the testing center
- Coordinate testing appointments and assign proctor duties to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow while understanding the test proctoring processes, rules, and procedures
- Prepare and organize testing materials in accordance with individual testing requirements and with established testing protocol and guidelines; develop seating plans, assign proctoring duties, and prepare testing facilities
- Enforce test security policies and procedures before, during, and after testing
- Prepare all test material for shipment; verify accuracy of test materials and prepare all associate documentation
- Track and document relevant items associated with tutoring, testing, and Student Success Center Visits in an annual report
- Provide general assistance to students in the Student Success Center

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related degree
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information, in written and oral format to students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
