Magellan International School in Austin, Texas, is seeking After-School Care Guides.
Key Responsibilities- Offer supervision for a cohort of children aged 3 to 13, including the organization of after-school schedules, routines, and activities
- Maintain the safety of Magellan students
- Ensure a physically and emotionally safe and healthy environment for students
- Create a culturally inclusive classroom with activities that support different cultures and backgrounds
- Lead and supervise play activities, games, sports, and creative projects
- Enforce safety and security standards for children and visitors
- Follow all school rules and policies in the Magellan Employee Handbook
- Keep accurate records for student check-in and check-out
- Complete other duties as assigned
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- Part-time availability Monday through Friday from 3-6pm
- Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Experience working with children
- Related education and/or experience in childhood development
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Dynamic and empathetic communicator
- Child-focused, warm, caring, and supportive
- Passionate about teaching and learning
- Flexible and willing to work collaboratively with teams
- Committed to the school’s vision and mission
This job operates in a classroom environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets and requires lifting, bending, standing, and stooping. This job operates both indoors and outdoors.
Additional Eligibility QualificationsA criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
