Assistant Director, Individual & Class Giving

and the job listing Expires on September 17, 2026

Dartmouth seeks an energetic, mission-driven fundraising professional to join the Dartmouth College Fund as Assistant Director, Individual & Class Giving. This role engages, educates, and motivates young alumni and graduating seniors to find their own “why” for supporting Dartmouth’s institutional priorities, including financial aid, helping to open doors of opportunity for the next generation of students.

About the Role

The Assistant Director will manage a portfolio of young alumni classes (one to four years post‑graduation) and select 5th Reunion years, along with the Senior Class Gift Program — a graduating class campaign that builds class unity and introduces students to the tradition of alumni philanthropy. Responsibilities include recruiting, educating, and motivating volunteers; developing and executing fundraising and direct marketing strategies;

cultivating and soliciting prospects; and leading event planning and project management for assigned classes. As part of a newly expanded young alumni program, this role calls for an entrepreneurial, creative approach to engaging students and young alumni as they carry Dartmouth’s spirit into the world.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and bring a minimum of four years of related experience, preferably within a college or university development office. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for working effectively with volunteers, donors, senior officers, institutional leadership, and campus partners. Demonstrated project management and analytical skills, along with creativity and comfort with data-driven decision-making, will support success in this role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with Advance and Slack is a plus, and full training will be provided.
