August Winter & Sons is a leading mechanical contractor serving Northeast Wisconsin for over 95 years. We specialize in heating, cooling, plumbing, and process systems for commercial, healthcare, and industrial markets. Our summer internship program offers engineering students the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in both office design and field settings, working alongside experienced professionals.

As a mechanical design engineering intern, you’ll collaborate with engineers and designers on real projects. You’ll learn how mechanical solutions are brought from concept to reality through system design, field surveys, and project coordination.

• Conduct field surveys of existing buildings and systems.
• Assist engineers with system design, selection, and layout.
• Develop calculations for system sizing and performance.
• Coordination of piping and ductwork for fabrication.
• Collect and analyze data on new and existing processes.

• Sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical design.
• GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
• Self-motivated, outgoing, enjoy working with a wide variety of people.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

• One on one mentoring from experienced engineers.
• Regular project site visits to see systems in action.
• A well‑rounded learning experience with exposure to both field and office work.
