This position is required to work on‑site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month and 6 additional Friday PTO days each year! And we offer half‑day Fridays – every Friday!
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of actuaries and work with a variety of health and life products. In this position, you will gain experience with a variety of actuarial tools and have a meaningful role as a contributor to an ever changing list of projects, including product development, pricing, and analysis. While you hone your hands‑on skills, you can also take advantage of our competitive student program to support your progress towards an actuarial designation.
The successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of responsibilities including the following:
- Support new product development work including pricing analysis and projections, competitive analysis, and sensitivity testing
- Help with rate filings
- Conduct ongoing experience studies
- Develop new and improve existing experience studies & methodologies
- Work with internal stakeholders to react to changes in product experience
- Identify opportunities to improve processes
Must‑Have
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of relevant actuarial experience
- Proven exam success and working towards ASA designation
- Experience working with complex spreadsheets and large databases
- Proficient with Excel. Experience with SAS or SQL considered a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with non‑actuarial staff
- Initiative, desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities
- Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn and grow professionally
- High level of organization, able to balance multiple priorities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Programming experience
- Experience with actuarial modeling software
The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications. Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
