JŌSH Foods is a growing food startup bringing a modern, high-protein twist to the foods we grew up eating. Our first product is a high-protein roti that makes it easier to enjoy traditional South Asian food while hitting your nutrition goals.

We’re looking for a motivated, creative, and resourceful Marketing & Business Development Intern who wants hands-on experience helping grow an early-stage consumer brand.

You’ll work directly with the founders and get exposure to everything from retail and partnerships to influencer marketing, events, and brand growth.

• Research potential retail and wholesale partners
• Build and maintain lists of qualified retail leads
• Identify buyer and decision-maker contact information
• Assist with outreach and follow-up to prospective retailers
• Research distributors, gyms, cafés, specialty markets, and other potential partners
• Keep our outreach pipeline organized and up to date

• Identify creators who align with the JŌSH brand
• Assist with influencer outreach and product gifting
• Coordinate product samples and creator follow-ups
• Identify potential brand collaborations and partnerships
• Research opportunities with gyms, dietitians, trainers, wellness professionals, and South Asian organizations

• Research farmers markets, food festivals, fitness events, cultural events, and pop-ups
• Identify local sampling and partnership opportunities
• Assist with event applications and coordination
• Occasionally help with JŌSH events and product sampling

• Research competitors and emerging food/fitness trends
• Brainstorm social media and marketing ideas
• Help organize UGC, testimonials, photos, and video content
• Research PR, podcast, newsletter, and media opportunities
• Assist with other marketing initiatives as the brand grows

You might be a great fit if you:

• Are currently studying marketing, business, entrepreneurship, communications, or a related field
• Are organized and comfortable working independently
• Are proactive and willing to figure things out rather than waiting for instructions
• Have strong written communication skills
• Are comfortable reaching out to people via email, DM, or Linked In
• Understand social media and creator/influencer culture
• Are interested in food, fitness, wellness, CPG, or entrepreneurship
• Want real-world startup experience rather than an internship where you’re just observing

Experience with Canva, Google Sheets, social media, or CRM tools is a plus, but not required.

You’ll work directly with the founders and get hands-on experience with what it actually takes to build and grow a consumer brand.

You’ll gain experience in:

• Startup operations

You’ll also have the opportunity to see your work directly contribute to the growth of JŌSH.

Time commitment:
Approximately 10–12 hours/week
Compensation: $16/hour
Duration: 12–16 weeks, with potential to continue

Location:

Houston, TX — primarily flexible/remote with occasional in-person meetings, events, or product sampling

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to roll up their sleeves, bring ideas to the table, and help us get JŌSH in front of more people.
