Throo is a Singapore-based ride-hailing platform that has disrupted the Southeast Asian market since its launch in 2018. Unlike traditional giants like Uber or Lyft, Throo operates on a zero-commission model. Instead of taking a large percentage of every fare (often 20% or more), Throo charges drivers a small, fixed platform fee. This ensures that drivers retain more of their hard-earned income and riders enjoy more competitive, transparent pricing.

Powered by MVL's blockchain, Throo creates a "fairness-first" ecosystem. By recording ride data securely and transparently, the platform incentivizes safe driving and high service quality through a token-based rewards system. Having already captured significant market share in Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Hong Kong, Throo is now bringing its blockchain-backed, driver-centric model to the West, with New York City serving as the cornerstone of its North American expansion.

Throo is expanding, and we are looking for a Strategic Marketing Intern to join our foundational New York City Launch Team. NYC is the most competitive and regulated ride-hailing market globally. We need a high-velocity, intellectually curious individual to help build Throo's brand from the ground up in New York City.

You will work directly with the Launch Lead to create UGC content, design a localized messaging strategy, and execute the marketing playbook that will define Throo's success in North America.

• Hyper-Local Messaging: Craft the "Why Throo" narrative specifically for the NYC market, differentiating us from incumbents (Uber/Lyft/Revel) for both driver-partners and riders.
• Segmented Campaigns: Develop bespoke messaging strategies for diverse NYC segments - from Manhattan commuters to outer-borough driver communities.
• GTM Execution: Support the end-to-end execution of the New York Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy across digital, OOH (Out-of-Home), and grassroots channels.
• Content Creation: Create UGC or other marketing materials to onboard New Yorkers

• Influence Mapping: Identify and map key NYC power players, including TLC (Taxi & Limousine Commission) influencers, driver unions/guilds, and local community leaders.
• Partnership Scoping: Identify and vet local NYC brand partners (lifestyle, fintech, or events) for co-marketing opportunities that provide immediate "street cred" and user trust.
• Public Perception: Assist in managing PR efforts to position Throo as the "fairer" alternative in the NYC transport ecosystem.
