About Us:Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. We’re offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations, providing hands‑on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:As an intern, you’ll be more than just an observer. You’ll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced Scouters to:
- Gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs.
- Hone your communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Assist with program development, fundraising initiatives, marketing campaigns, and more.
- Receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
- Fulfill your high school, college, or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).
- Collaborating with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.
- Documenting your learning journey through weekly activity logs.
- Participating in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.
- Attending meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.
- Completing assigned projects and tasks.
- Becoming a member of Scouting America and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.
- High School diploma, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.
- A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).
- Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
- Schedule and hours are negotiable.
