Global Smile Foundation (GSF) envisions a world where no child or adult lives with the burden of untreated cleft. We believe quality cleft care should never depend on geography, income, or circumstance. Every individual deserves the chance to speak, eat, smile, and thrive with confidence.
Our work rests on three pillars: medical care, education, and research.
Through our Sustainable Health Programs in Beirut (Lebanon), Trujillo (Peru), Guayaquil (Ecuador), and San Salvador (El Salvador), we partner with local providers to strengthen cleft care from within—delivering free comprehensive treatment while building long-term capacity.
Our commitment extends far beyond the operating room. Each year, we bring together clinicians from across low- and middle-income countries through the Comprehensive Cleft Care Workshop (CCCW), a global training initiative that equips providers to expand access to high-quality cleft care in their own communities. We also invest in future leaders through our global health research fellowship, advancing both the science and practice of comprehensive cleft care.
All of this is powered by an extraordinary team and hundreds of dedicated volunteers—surgeons, nurses, students, and partners—who give their time and talent to ensure that every patient we meet receives the care they deserve.
The RoleThe Development & Data Integrity Intern supports GSF’s development team across two connected areas: a comprehensive donor data consolidation initiative and active major gift and stewardship work.
GSF is undertaking a donor data consolidation initiative to bring more than two decades of philanthropic history into a single, unified system of record. As the organization has grown, generosity has reached us through many channels—direct gifts, peer-to-peer campaigns, event revenue, donor-advised funds, third-party platforms, and partner organizations. This project brings that full giving history together in one place, creating a complete and reliable foundation for donor stewardship, reporting, and long-term relationship building.
Alongside this work, the intern contributes directly to active fundraising—supporting major gift proposal development, prospect research, and stewardship communications. This is a hands‑on role well suited to someone who is detail‑oriented, curious, and interested in how a global health nonprofit builds and sustains its philanthropic base.
The position reports to the Chief Development & Strategy Officer (CDSO) and works in close partnership with GSF’s development operations staff.
