Internship Exploring General Business & Beyond

Position Summary

The Internal Quality Auditor ensures processes and product comply with the requirements of standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, Nadcap), as well as customer, regulatory, and Fredon’s own requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop annual internal audit schedule and put together audit checklists.
  • Perform both process and product audits, as part of Fredon’s internal audit program.
  • Identify where Fredon is and is not meeting quality requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and interpret customer requirements, including completion of customer surveys and recommend methods of compliance.
  • Help prepare for and host external quality audits, including AS9100 surveillance and re-certification audits.
  • Assist in maintaining Fredon’s quality procedures, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with other quality duties as requested.
Required Training & Experience
  • Certified quality auditor (e.g., ASQ CQA) or 2 or more years’ experience as an ISO or AS9100 lead internal auditor.
  • Keen eye for detail and above-average analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Practical experience with auditing and problem-solving tools (e.g., control charts, Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Why).
  • Exceptional listening, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and general knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Nadcap.

Accommodation as required for reading computer screens and documents.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment most of the time. Shop and inspection environments are controlled with some hazards from moving machinery.
