About FDD’s Internship Program
Based in downtown Washington, D.C., the Foundation for Defense of Democracies offers internship opportunities. All interns receive a stipend and have the chance to engage in a twice‑monthly speaker series. Interns can earn academic credit and work closely with senior staff.
The Center on Economic and Financial Power (CEFP) seeks a full‑time or part‑time intern. The intern will work closely with the CEFP team to provide research support on U.S. economic security projects, including sanctions and economic statecraft, illicit finance, global corruption risks, supply chain dependencies, trade enforcement, digital currencies, and positive economic power projection.

- Must have at least a 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
- Should have a relevant course of study and have completed coursework in International Relations, Security Studies, History, Communications, Journalism, International Economics, Political Science, Data Analytics, or a relevant STEM field of study.
- Interns should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, as well as basic Excel skills.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 22 hours per week.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
