Position: Visitor Experience Intern

The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design

At The Branch, design isn’t just what we exhibit—it’s how we welcome people and make every guest feel like they belong. We’re looking for interns passionate about design, museums, and fostering community.

What you’ll do:
  • Welcome guests with enthusiasm through words, presence and attentiveness; setting the tone.
  • Share what makes The Branch special—our history, exhibits, and programs—in a way that feels personal and inviting.
  • Handle admissions, membership sign-ups, and daily guest needs with ease and friendliness.
  • Flex your muscles across departments learning critical museum functions and operations.

Qualifications:
  • Availability:
    See Availability Understanding.
  • Academic Study in either design (open to all disciplines), art, museology, or hospitality.
  • Clear and effective verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and small team environment.
  • Physical capability to go up and down stairs, sustain periods of prolonged standing, and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Internship Duration
  • Fall (16 weeks)
    • Start date:

      Week of September 1st
    • End date:
      Week of December 17th

Internship offers are given per semester to at most two students.

You must commit to 7‑hour shifts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Select Saturdays; you’ll likely be scheduled for every other Saturday.

Before the end of your internship, you may be presented with the option to extend your internship for another semester.

$15 per hour | Internship No Benefits
