Job Description Position SummaryThe Residential HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role focuses on ensuring optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction while identifying potential issues before they become major repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on residential HVAC systems (heating and cooling units)
- Inspect equipment for proper operation, safety, and efficiency
- Clean and replace filters, coils, and other components
- Test system controls, thermostats, and electrical connections
- Identify worn or failing parts and recommend repairs or replacements
- Document service activities, findings, and recommendations
- Educate homeowners on system operation and maintenance best practices
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
- Follow all safety standards and company procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- HVAC certification or technical training preferred (EPA certification a plus)
- 1–3+ years of residential HVAC maintenance experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Work in confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and varying weather conditions
- Stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Full-time, with potential for overtime during peak seasons
- Occasional on-call or weekend work may be required
