You are expected to help organize an international high school event taking place on the St John Fisher University campus. It involves setting up the event, welcoming participants, and guiding them throughout the campus. It is a dynamic and fun event to work with participants from 70+ countries and 35+ states. Here are the details:
You are expected to work with the following schedule, subject to minor changes:
- Saturday, June 6 = 9 am – 6.00 pm
, Set up fair areas; lunch and dinner will be provided – Move-In Date (only if staying on campus w/GENIUS) - Sunday, June 7 = 9 am – 6.30 pm
, Continue set-up; breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided - Saturday, June 13, clean up / checkout by 10 am (breakfast is provided)
Loading and unloading trucks, project setup and teardown, folding tables and tablecloths, registration desk, welcome desk at the airport, guidance at events, in charge of judging sessions, Niagara Falls trip, helping get participants on buses, etc.
RequirementsPass a background check (done by Terra), Complete all Youth Protection Training before the start of the program and follow all Youth Protection rules, laws, and regulations as a GENIUS Contractor.
PaymentYou will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner + on-campus housing
Students who worked at GENIUS in previous years will get an additional $100.
- Rising College Freshmen: $500
- Undergrads (1-2 years): $600
- Undergrads (3-4 years): $700
- Grad students: $850
Those who work only some days or at certain events may receive a reduced payment. For each missed full day, 1/7 of the payment will be deducted. For a half-day missed, 1/14 of the payment will be deducted. International students are allowed to work:
