Paid, Part-Time Placement for Undergraduate Students
Position OverviewUndergraduate students will serve as student mediators, handling consumer complaints, answering public inquiries, and supporting investigations into patterns of fraud or illegality.
Responsibilities- Mediating individual complaints filed by consumers against businesses.
- Answering phone inquiries from the public and guiding callers to appropriate resources.
- Maintaining and reviewing complaint files across a range of consumer issues (retail sales, mail order, credit, telemarketing, warranties, home repair, automobiles).
- Assisting in investigations of larger fraud or illegal activity patterns.
- Participating in training and receiving coaching from professional staff and attorneys.
- Full‑time undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during regular business hours from early August through late December.
- Strong organizational, analytical, creative, and communication skills.
- No prior experience required, though ability to exercise judgment and discretion is essential.
- In‑office work at 144 Exchange Blvd, Rochester, New York.
- Eligible to be employed in the United States.
- Applicants must not be starting college or university during the fall semester of 2026.
- Preference for those able to continue working during the spring semester.
Paid placement at an hourly rate of $16.39.
