Join our dedicated team as a Therapeutic Mentor, where you will play a vital role in supporting children and young individuals with diverse needs. This rewarding position involves providing personalized mentorship, fostering positive behavioral change, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for growth.
Experience mentoring adolescent males preferred.
Experience working with justice-involved youth preferred.

Duties- Build trusting relationships with children and young individuals through engaging activities and consistent support.
- Implement individualized behavioral plans and therapeutic strategies tailored to each person’s unique needs.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating healthy communication, accountability, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills.
- Collaborate closely with families, educators, social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor progress and document behavioral changes, challenges, and successes accurately and thoroughly.
- Facilitate a safe environment by promoting respectful interactions, conflict resolution, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prior experience working with children or young individuals in educational, childcare, or behavioral health settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles and strategies for supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor effectively while maintaining patience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Strong conflict management skills to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and constructively.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children with special needs or developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or related field
- Combination of education and experience working with youth and families
- High school diploma or GED with relevant behavioral health and/or mentoring experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to obtain)
- Reliable transportation
- Vehicle registration and insurance
- A working laptop, computer, or tablet for documentation and supervision
- Must be 21 years or older
- All newly hired mentor will complete Field-Based Training, including shadowing and direct observation
- Completion of initial competency training and supervision before taking full caseload
- FBI background check
- Local police clearance
- TB test (must show negative result)
- Flexible, part-time hours
- Must be available to work with youth after school, evenings, and weekends as needed
