Mechanic – Piling Equipment – Dukhan Solar Project Company: CHCI (Qatar Branch)

Applicants must have proven experience maintaining and repairing piling equipment and hold a valid Qatar  (QID).

About the Role CHCI (Qatar Branch) is seeking experienced Mechanics for the Dukhan Solar Project. Successful candidates will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar piling rigs, forklifts, and associated construction equipment to ensure safe operation and minimise downtime.

• Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs on piling rigs and associated equipment.
• Diagnose faults in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, undercarriages, and mechanical components.
• Inspect and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and connections.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs with operators and site supervisors.
• Inspect piling attachments and moving components for wear, damage, and correct operation.
• Identify spare parts requirements and coordinate with the storekeeper and procurement team.
• Follow manufacturers’ maintenance schedules and technical instructions.
• Maintain service records, repair reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Test equipment following repairs and confirm readiness before returning it to service.
• Follow safe isolation procedures, release stored pressure, and properly support components before maintenance.
• Maintain a clean work area and handle oils, lubricants, and waste responsibly.

• Proven hands-on experience maintaining and repairing piling rigs and associated foundation equipment.
• A valid Qatar  (QID) at the time of application.
• Previous experience as a heavy equipment or piling rig mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and hydraulic diagrams.
  
  Ability to use diagnostic equipment, workshop tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with operators and site teams.
• Good understanding of safe maintenance practices.

• Experience with solar piling rigs and forklifts.
• Relevant mechanical trade certificate or technical diploma.
• Previous Qatar or GCC construction experience.
• Basic knowledge of equipment electrical systems and controls.
