Position

Summary

This is a full-time, onsite role for a strategic thinker with strong tax technical skills and a passion for client service. The successful candidate will lead high-level engagements, mentor staff and play an integral role in client relationship management and business development.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and conduct high-level review of complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership and trust returns
  • Handle occasional complex or special tax projects as needed
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting tailored to client needs
  • Stay current with tax law changes and advise clients on implications and planning opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and business insight
  • Work collaboratively with partners, senior managers and staff to deliver integrated client service and support new business development
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, articulating complex tax concepts clearly and confidently
  • Monitor engagement profitability by managing budgets, billing, and client expectations
  • Actively participate in business development efforts such as networking, attending industry events and supporting proposal development
  • Train, supervise, and mentor staff, fostering their professional growth and technical development
Qualifications
  • CPA license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree in accounting or taxation preferred
  • 5–7 years of recent experience in public accounting, primarily focused on tax
  • Strong knowledge of current tax laws, tax software and research tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements
  • Willingness to work extended hours during tax season
  • Participate in special firm initiatives as requested by firm leadership such as staff recruitment, software improvement and client development
