Job Summary
The Part‑Time Dental Hygienist provides dentistry and dental hygiene services in a community‑based setting, performing initial client screenings, cleaning and polishing teeth, advising on oral health and preventive care, taking X‑rays and impressions, documenting care, and maintaining supplies.
Responsibilities- Ensure patients feel comfortable before their examination
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and assess oral health history
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis or periodontitis; clean and protect clients’ teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Educate clients on proper tooth‑care techniques
- Provide post‑procedure instructions
- Take X‑rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases
- Maintain accurate documentation and charts for each client
- Monitor supplies and coordinate re‑ordering as needed
- Experienced with culturally diverse populations
- Excellent written, speaking and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer and database skills with a positive, friendly demeanor
- Excellent customer service skills and warm personality
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist
- In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Experience sterilizing, preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Minimum of two years of Dental Hygiene experience preferred
- Experience with Dentrix software preferred
- Previous experience with HIV and/or Infectious Disease preferred
Active, unrestricted dental hygiene license in the state of Georgia.
Current CPR certification.
