About the Role
This is a unique role within the corporate Industrial Design () team are at the forefront of producing a wide range of product lines and technologies, offering PC, console, and unique peripherals across all sectors of gaming and electronic hardware. This is a rare opportunity to work in an innovative technology company, designing within our considerable portfolio—from racing hardware for PC to products in the console space, as well as working with established brands such as Play Station and Xbox.
As a key member of the Industrial Design team, you will draw on your previous design experience to deliver exciting New Product Development (NPD) and R&D programs from the ground up. CORSAIR is seeking a highly skilled and ambitious professional to help us create and deliver innovative products while contributing to the team's expansion.
The in-house design team is responsible for a wide range of deliverables, including digital and physical design and prototyping, physical UX, out-of-box experience (OOBE)/packaging, and design customization. This full-time position is based in our facility in Duluth, GA. The role reports into the team in California, USA, though team members are located worldwide within a multinational company.
ResponsibilitiesCreate fresh, innovative, and sometimes unique ideas following design briefs and roadmap initiatives.
Explore and create innovative hardware that advances the user experience.
Develop and refine innovative solutions through to a final end-user experience.
Collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team throughout the various design development phases.
Work both traditionally and digitally (2D and 3D) to develop solutions with a strong emphasis on ergonomics, proportion, and refinement of graphics and form.
Generate artistic, immersive, and engaging presentations for senior management (e.g., storyboards, prototypes, displays, animation, VR experiences, videos).
Design and build physical and digital prototypes at various levels of fidelity.
Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a closely related field.
Exceptional hand-sketching and conceptual modeling skills in both digital and traditional media, with strong command of secondary prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printing, foam modeling).
5+ years of experience with 2D & 3D digital tools (Creative Suite, Solid Works, Rhino/Grasshopper, Office Suite, etc.).
Solid Works and Rhino 3D modeling are a priority, along with Key Shot for rendering.
2–3+ years of professional industrial design experience within the electronics hardware industry, including at least one project taken from concept to market release.
A strong portfolio of conceptual design work and released products.
Ability to create and develop compelling design concepts and specifications that define the function, ergonomics, perceived value, and appearance of physical hardware products and systems for consumers and end users.
Bachelor's or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a closely related field (e.g., Transportation Design).
Deep understanding of ergonomic hardware design, switches, and UX (functional, hardware, and software), including physical and digital design execution.
Fluency in A-surface and geometry production in 3D CAD, plus parametric and procedural design production and application (e.g., Grasshopper + Rhino).
Exceptional digital presentation skills using 3D photo-rendering software (e.g., Key Shot), Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Strong design development skills (physical and digital sketching) and digital visualization of the design process and design thinking.
