CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Aviation Engineering Manager to join our Aviation Team in Knoxville, TN;
Atlanta, GA; or Duluth, GA

, where you'll provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for the planning, design, and delivery of airport infrastructure projects spanning airside, landside, and facility systems. This is your opportunity to partner closely with clients and project teams, mentor developing engineers, and play a key role in advancing innovative, resilient solutions that support the long-term success of airport communities.

What You'll Do
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to airport infrastructure projects, such as runways, taxiways, and terminals, from initial assessment through planning and design.
  • Collaborate with aviation team leadership to manage and motivate a high‑performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goals.
  • Effectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical aviation initiatives.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phase.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline‑specific engineering experience required; previous project or team management experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in aviation infrastructure and systems.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to guide and motivate team activity and resolve issues with urgency.
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one‑on‑one and in front of large groups.
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred; basic understanding of accounting processes.
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $130,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
