This position is for a Calibration Technician at HBK in Duluth, GA, responsible for calibrating a wide variety of sound and vibration electronic equipment and transducers. The role involves evaluating instrumentation, supporting customers, planning field service calibrations, generating certificates, operating test systems, and maintaining laboratory records.
Primary Responsibilities- Evaluate and calibrate instrumentation and transducers from external and internal customers.
- Provide customer support via email or telephone when necessary.
- Prepare, plan and perform field service calibration when assigned.
- Generate legible supporting certificates and other test documentation.
- Operate and maintain semi-automatic test systems for calibration.
- Make prompt entries in the Service Program to provide up-to-date status.
- Build calibration reports and certificates.
- Request needed parts and supplies for the calibration laboratory.
- Notify the Quality Manager regarding necessary revisions and updates of test documentation.
- Train other calibration technicians when assigned.
- Maintain and protect customer instruments and transducers.
- Maintain and preserve calibration facilities, including instrumentation, work and storage areas, and records.
- Maintain general housekeeping of laboratory areas.
- Use and maintain Quality and Technical Documentation as required by the Quality Management System.
- Technical or military service school training in the calibration of instrumentation and transducers.
- PMEL Calibration Training a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in calibration and/or repair.
- Team player.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professional ethics and appreciation of teamwork.
- Willingness to cross‑train in all functions of the Calibration Laboratory.
- Willingness to perform tasks needed to maintain an effective inbound and outbound schedule to meet strict deadlines.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- SAP and/or Salesforce CRM knowledge.
- Team player with ability to multitask and cross‑train.
