Senior Geotechnical Engineer

• Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects.
• Develop and execute whole scopes.
• Review engineering work of others.
• Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies.
• Make geotechnical recommendations and prepare engineering reports for senior review.
• Understand and manage client needs through communication and proposal/project work.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Perform routine civil engineering tasks such as grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, and utility design; sketches, technical comparisons, and other technical work.
• Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians.
• Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and architects and recommend necessary changes.
• Identify complex problems or possible solutions and take appropriate action to resolve.
• Manage project teams efficiently, including engineering and field support personnel.
• Oversee and train staff on Braun Intertec technical practices.
• Supervise and mentor junior‑level staff.
• Compile engineering calculations using standard formulas and software.
• Prepare field reports documenting contractor work, test results, and their interpretation.
• Work within established procedures and protocols.
• Aware of risks associated with recommendations.
• Market Braun Intertec services to clients.
• Work in compliance with corporate practices, health and safety policies.
• Complete safety training as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent; BS in civil or geotechnical engineering (MS in geotechnical or structural engineering preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in civil or geotechnical engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Creative and innovative thinking for complex, high‑impact problems.
• Ability to qualify professional opinions of less experienced engineers.
• Ability to delegate and develop direct reports.
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
• Advanced knowledge of calculus, algebra, statistics, and related mathematical concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Independent work capability and team collaboration.
• Action‑oriented, efficient time management, and ability to learn on the fly.
• Valid driver’s license and pass MVR as required.

The role requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, talking or hearing, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, smelling, lifting up to 50 pounds, occasionally lifting more than 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color). Work involves outside weather exposure and moderate noise levels, loud when on job site.
