Job Description We are seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management and Construction Inspection practice team in Duluth GA The successful candidate will perform on site construction inspections of various transportation related construction projects including bridge and highway projects Project locations may be anywhere within the Central Savannah River Area including Putnam County Come join us This is an advanced journey to advanced level inspector position technical work supporting engineers in functional areas of roadway and structure construction acceptance inspection and materials sampling and testing verification Employee supports engineers and lead inspectors in the management of construction activities on large complex construction projects Work usually involves a significant amount of decision making and use of judgment and may include providing work directions to others Core Responsibilities Conduct independent standardize or moderately complex inspections of roadway and structural construction to ensure compliance with contract specifications Inspect and test materials such as soils aggregates asphalt and concrete for quality and proper mix Evaluate pavement for correct spreading rolling depth alignment and compaction Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to approved plans and specifications Monitor structural components and operations including foundation excavation placement of culverts piling reinforcing steel structural steel concrete and backfill Monitor the installation and maintenance of traffic control and erosion control devices Perform complex calculations and field measurements for contract documentation and pay item verification Maintain accurate and complete project documentation Perform additional duties as assigned Youll thrive here if you have Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management and two 2 years of progressive transportation technician experience;
