Senior Application Engineer
Nordson Nonwovens is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Application Engineer. This role is responsible for applications engineering, including designing, defining, and implementing system requirements; analyzing and testing products; developing system solutions based on customer requirements; conducting feasibility tests; and managing the development of bill of materials, system diagrams, design oversight, and system orders from quotation to installation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Partner with the sales team to review customers' technical needs and recommend specific product/service solutions to meet these needs and drive market share.
- Conduct feasibility tests and work on process development projects to meet customer specifications.
- Estimate costs and consult with sales on technical matters, ensuring solutions can be integrated with current systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers from various departments to resolve problems that arise during and after implementation.
- Answer questions from field sales, service, and customers about equipment performance and make recommendations on equipment use for specific purposes.
- Oversee the design of and/or specify special components as needed for custom system solutions.
- Assist with sales presentations to prospective customers and conduct user training on‑site.
- Guide the work of lower‑level engineers.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering;
Mechanical or Electrical preferred. - At least 5 years of prior related applied engineering experience.
- Advanced understanding of mathematical and engineering principles used to design systems and components.
- Ability to make well‑reasoned and timely decisions based on careful, objective review and informed analysis.
- Ability to adapt behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
- Strong task prioritization skills and ability to adjust priorities as business dictates.
- Minimal travel: 0–10%
- Position is onsite at the Johns Creek facility.
