Application Engineer

About The Role

The HVS Application engineer is responsible and accountable for the WEG HVS negotiation process from inception of the RFQ to negotiation close out.

• Communicate with Field Sales, Customer(s), and factories effectively
• Demonstrate understanding of the application, OEMs, customer visits, etc.
• Develop industry experience (periodicals, internet research, conference participation, site visits, etc.)
• Review request for quotations (specifications, emails, phone calls, etc.)
• Lead and take ownership of the quotation/opportunity by requesting feedback from Sales or directly from customers, when appropriate
• Identify project/customer details vital for determining quotation strategy
• Compile accurate quotation to customers of WEG’s offering
• Follow minimum pricing guidelines as established by management
• Identify opportunities to management when alternate pricing is needed
• Accurately receive and review Purchase Order (as needed)
• Generate order entry material
• Organize all quotation/order documentation electronically and hard copies (if needed)
• Assist Project Coordinator / Manager technically or commercially as needed

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university or university program certificate, or 2‑4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven capabilities in the Electric Machines industry in roles related to Application Engineering
• Technical experience and knowledge of electrical machines and their applications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

1 to 3 years’ experience as Application Engineer in Electric Machines industry or relevant business experience.
