As a Water Resources Engineer in Duluth, GA, you will lead and contribute to diverse projects, including stormwater management, environmental permitting, MS4 compliance, watershed planning, and municipal engineering. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions while supporting sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead environmental planning and permitting for complex transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Interpret and apply local, state, and federal environmental regulations throughout project life cycles.
- Advise municipalities on environmental policies, technical standards, and design guidelines.
- Oversee QA/QC for technical deliverables, including reports, permit applications, and design documentation.
- Manage project scopes, budgets, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
- Provide mentorship and performance oversight for junior and mid-level engineers.
- Drive client engagement and business development, including proposals and strategic growth initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Georgia or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and water resource engineering.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act and state‑specific permitting frameworks.
- Established relationships with regulatory agencies and municipal governments in Georgia.
- Proven leadership in mentoring and developing engineering teams.
- Advanced project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ability to manage staff utilization and optimize resources for efficient project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and client‑facing interactions.
- Collaborative approach to problem‑solving and team leadership.
