Structural Designer
This Structural Designer role focuses on delivering high-quality structural steel and concrete foundation designs for industrial facilities. You will use Revit and structural analysis tools to develop detailed models and drawings, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that all designs are safe, efficient, and constructible. The position offers an office-based environment with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule after an initial onboarding period.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed structural designs and 3D models for industrial projects using Revit.
- Produce, update, and maintain structural drawings, plans, and details for structural steel and concrete foundations.
- Apply structural design principles to ensure the safety, integrity, and constructability of industrial structures.
- Use structural analysis tools such as RISA to support design decisions and verify structural performance.
- Coordinate with engineers and other design disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project layouts.
- Review design documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards, codes, and best practices.
- Incorporate feedback from project teams and revise designs, models, and drawings as required.
- Support the preparation of documentation for project submissions, permitting, and construction.
- Maintain organized project files, models, and drawings in accordance with established company standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of structural design processes, tools, and best practices within the design team.
- Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.
- Strong proficiency in Revit for structural or civil design work, with the ability to develop detailed models and drawings.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working within design, preferably in structural steel and concrete foundations.
- Hands-on experience designing concrete foundations for industrial or similar projects.
- Hands-on experience designing structural steel elements and systems.
- Experience in structural design for industrial projects or industrial environments.
- Ability to use structural analysis software such as RISA to support and validate design decisions.
- Solid understanding of structural design principles and industrial facility requirements.
- Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings, construction documents, and design details.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in modeling, drafting, and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in structural or civil design within industrial environments.
- Previous design experience within civil, structural, engineering, or construction disciplines.
- Familiarity with integrating structural models into broader project workflows and coordinated layouts.
- Experience with concrete foundation design and structural steel design beyond basic coursework.
- Previous industrial project experience is a plus.
- Proficiency or familiarity with RISA or similar structural analysis software is a strong plus.
- Ability to manage multiple design tasks concurrently and consistently meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to work in an office-based environment with the option for a hybrid schedule after an initial onboarding period.
The role begins as a fully in-office position for approximately the first one to two months to support onboarding, training, and close collaboration with the design team. After this initial period, the position can transition to a hybrid schedule. Team members typically work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and select one additional day on site each week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days as appropriate.
The work environment is office-based and highly collaborative, centered around the use of design and analysis software such as Revit and RISA.
