Structural Engineer

Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with expertise in designing and analyzing structural components for industrial buildings, manufacturing facilities, and chemical plants. The ideal candidate will have experience working with steel and concrete structures, proficiency in structural analysis software, and the ability to manage and execute complex design and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Structural Design and Drafting:- Develop structural design plans and drawings for commercial buildings and large home developments.
- Address complex structural elements such as foundation offsets, control joints, beam services, and geotechnical compliance.
- Perform analysis on ongoing projects and recommend changes to ensure structural safety and integrity.
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, STAAD) to design and analyze structures.
- Ensure all designs meet local building codes and address safety concerns, including flood risks, fire safety measures, and structural integrity against environmental factors.
- Conduct inspections of existing structures to assess safety and viability, making recommendations for repairs, renovations, or demolition when necessary.
- Oversee construction progress, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide guidance on site retaining walls, column grids, and elevations for various structural components.
- Develop plans for special structural details, such as beam bracing and outriggers, for complex building designs.
- Address the design and layout of critical structures such as elevator machine rooms and slab elevations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a structural engineering role, with a focus on industrial and commercial structures.
Skills:
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, and STAAD.
- Solid understanding of structural design principles for steel and concrete structures.
- Ability to create detailed design drawings and conduct thorough structural analysis.
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address complex structural challenges.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines related to structural engineering and construction.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) license is preferred but not mandatory.
