KCI is seeking a motivated student for a Cost Estimating Engineering Internship to join our team in Duluth, GA for Summer 2027. This position offers hands-on experience supporting the preparation of cost estimates for a variety of projects, working alongside experienced estimators. Summer interns will work a 40-hour week, with at least 10 weeks of work required during the period from mid-May to the end of August.

Interns will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in developing quantity take-offs and preliminary cost estimates for engineering and construction projects
• Support the review and analysis of drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed estimates
• Help maintain cost databases, historical project information, and benchmarking data
• Participate in bid preparation, proposal development, and subcontractor/vendor outreach
• Assist in preparing project cost reports, summaries, and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with team members to track project budgets and identify potential cost savings
• Gain exposure to estimating tools, software, and methodologies used in the industry

Education and/or

Skills Required:

• This is an entry level position where no previous experience is required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

• 3.0 GPA or higher

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations

Required:

• Valid Driver's License
