WEG Electric Corp. has an exciting opportunity for a Repair Engineering Specialist II to join our Customer Service Aftermarket team. This position is responsible for evaluating, troubleshooting, testing, and supporting the repair of WEG low-voltage and medium-voltage drives, soft starters, motors, and related industrial equipment. The Repair Engineering Specialist II serves as a technical resource for repair operations, spare parts recommendations, repair quotations, and lifecycle service solutions.
This role works closely with customers, engineering, field service, manufacturing, and sales teams to deliver high-quality repair solutions that maximize equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Perform technical evaluations, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of WEG products and systems.
- Diagnose failures involving drives, soft starters, motors, control systems, power electronics, and related equipment.
- Conduct root-cause failure analysis and recommend corrective actions based on testing results and technical findings.
- Manage assigned repair evaluations from receipt through completion, including technical scope, testing requirements, parts identification, documentation, and status updates.
- Prepare repair quotations for WEG automation products and low-voltage and medium-voltage spare parts using established processes and approval guidelines.
- Identify replacement parts and recommend solutions based on product condition, configuration, obsolescence, and lifecycle requirements.
- Support modernization, retrofit, capital project, and long-term service agreement opportunities through technical recommendations and service planning.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for customers regarding repair findings, recommendations, repair status, and service requirements.
- Coordinate technical issues with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Field Service, Sales, Supply Chain, and other internal teams.
- Maintain accurate repair records, technical reports, testing documentation, and service recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on repair quality, turnaround time, safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the training and development of less experienced team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain repair laboratory equipment, tooling, workstations, and testing systems in accordance with departmental standards.
- Continue developing advanced product and application knowledge through training and hands-on experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical education in electrical technology, electronics, industrial automation, electromechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
- 1 to 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, repair operations, electrical or electronic equipment troubleshooting, field service, or aftermarket technical support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, control systems, and power electronics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Low-voltage and medium-voltage drives.
