Business Banker - Capital City Bank - More than your bank, Your Banker.
Deliver a full range of banking services to businesses and business owners with a strong focus on client contact, sales, and service. The role requires significant outside business development activities, regular travel to clients and community events, and adherence to the Bank’s Motor Vehicle Guidelines. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act and registration in the NMLS Registry are mandatory.
All associates handle confidential client information with discretion at all times.
Responsibilities- Produce loans, fees, deposits, and referrals on a periodic incentive basis.
- Operate with varying authority and specialization within the department.
- Call on retail clients and prospects with revenues under $3 million and loan opportunities of $800 k or less, while pursuing higher revenue opportunities as appropriate.
- Build and maintain quality portfolios that generate revenue for the Bank.
- Support overall bank production goals as outlined by MAP targets and scorecards.
- Provide sales and service to existing businesses and business owners within the portfolio.
- Identify business-production opportunities and facilitate loan referrals.
- Meet with clients to discuss small‑business needs and recommend bank solutions.
- Conduct proactive business development and calling within assigned market areas.
- Partner with assigned Client Experience Managers.
- Cross‑sell a full range of small‑business banking services through coordination with Business Partners.
- Maintain active community participation and visibility.
Skills and Abilities
- Credit and financial analysis
- Loan and credit structuring
- Loan documentation and closing processes
- Cash‑management product knowledge and business‑loan product knowledge
- Consumer and business banking product and sales knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to rapidly learn Capital City Bank operating applications such as Jack Henry Silver Lake, Baker Hill One Point, Synergy, AFS Envision Image Depot, and others as required.
- Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act, registration in the NMLS Registry, and adherence to the Bank’s Motor Vehicle Guidelines.
- Four‑year college degree required; significant relevant work experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial or savings‑bank lending, operations, deposit management, administration, or cash management preferred.
- Professional office setting in a fast‑paced environment.
- After‑hours civic and business‑development participation may be required.
- Frequent out‑of‑office visits to clients.
- Limited travel to surrounding markets.
- Driving as required by the position.
- In the event of major natural disasters, epidemics, or other disruptions, associates may need to relocate or telecommute to ensure business continuity.
