Job Description:
The Assistant Manager – Freight Forwarding Accounting oversees financial reporting, compliance, and performance analysis across freight forwarding, inland trucking, trading, and related operations while supporting leadership with accurate insights and process improvements.
- Lead and manage the month‑end closing process ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and corporate internal controls.
- Supervise financial transaction monitoring across multiple business segments.
- Review accrual aging, segmented P&L reports, and detailed financial summaries.
- Perform revenue, cost, and margin forecasting to support planning.
- Consolidate and reconcile financial data across reporting entities and systems.
- Maintain financial master data integrity and reporting consistency.
- Develop dashboards and financial presentations using Excel and BI tools.
- Deliver ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to senior management and auditors.
- Identify and implement financial process and reporting improvements.
- Monitor KPIs aligned with strategic and operational goals.
- Oversee accrual testing and validation during month‑end close.
- Evaluate profitability of new business ventures and margin performance.
- Support strategic projects and cross‑functional initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - 6–9+ years of accounting experience; supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of SOX, GAAP, and IFRS standards.
- Proficiency in Excel required; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured corporate environment.
