Responsibilities- Work in partnership with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Logistics to ensure sound internal controls in these operations.
- Provide effective financial advice to Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Logistics organizations.
- Work closely with these organizations to deliver business objectives by driving high‑leverage financial opportunities such as increased capacity utilization, material cost savings, streamlined logistics, product/process cost optimization, working capital reduction, capital effectiveness, and restructuring/sourcing projects.
- Provide financial analysis for gross‑margin analysis, labor and overhead cost analysis.
- Oversee annual manufacturing budgets and forecasts for short‑ and long‑range operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements for manufacturing teams.
- Review cost standards, maintain periodic cost rolls and annual updates, and ensure consistent methodology.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs, prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, and review manufacturing variances (PPV, POV) and manufacturing absorption analysis reports.
- Prepare journal entries, review month‑end balance sheets, ensure monthly assessments and settlements are accurate and timely, review cut‑off procedures, and run and reconcile One Stream reports.
- Model capital investments for manufacturing locations, track results, and report on cost savings.
- Assume other special activities and responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
- Understanding of standard cost accounting and internal control concepts and practices.
- CPA and/or CMA desired.
- Strong planning and analysis skills with experience in product cost forecasting, budgeting and planning.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers and customers.
- Strong initiative, leadership, critical thinking, problem‑solving, financial analysis and communication skills.
Office environment. The employee must sit, use hands, talk, hear, occasionally stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Noise level is usually moderate in a cubicle environment.
Travel required:
estimated 25% (responsible for traveling to the Swainsboro facility).
