Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Finance Manager is to support the finance team by managing key financial processes, including monthly close activities, budgeting, forecasting, SG&A reporting, and financial storytelling. As the primary subject matter expert on Financial Consolidation and Close Software (FCCS), the Finance Manager will leverage this tool to extract meaningful insights, narrate the financial story, and support decision making.

Additionally, this role will collaborate across various departments and engage with executives to communicate accurate and actionable financial insights.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborates with finance team members to oversee financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities during the monthly close, ensuring alignment with the accounting team for accurate reporting.
  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert on FCCS for the finance team, understanding its functionality, promoting effective usage, and collaborating with the accounting team to interpret and utilize data within the tool.
  • Utilizes FCCS to prepare and analyze financial packages, extracting key numbers and providing insights that communicate the financial story of the business.
  • Leads the budgeting and forecasting processes, including inputting forecast and budget data into FCCS, consolidating inputs, and preparing comprehensive reports for management and executives.
  • Builds and nurtures strong relationships with department leaders and executives, collaborating to understand business drivers and their financial implications.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis, trend identification, and actionable recommendations.
  • Manages SG&A expense management and reporting, collaborating with department leaders to monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Develops and maintains financial models and tools to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and informed decision-making.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives, including automation and standardization of FP&A processes, to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Assists with other ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or a related field
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting in a mid-sized organization ($50M-$500M revenue preferred)
  • Familiarity with financial consolidation tools, preferably FCCS (or similar Oracle products), including the ability to extract data, interpret results, and load forecasts and budgets
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, such as JD Edwards
  • Experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrates a proactive mentality with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable insights and communicate financial stories effectively
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving results
  • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment
  • Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions with all employee levels including executive management
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or Finance (U.S. Only), Professional Designation such as CPA, MAcc or MBA (Canada Only)
  • Experience working in a private equity backed environment (U.S. Only)
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP (U.S. Only)
