Overview

Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated therapy management organization founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We partner with Northside Gwinnett to provide therapy services throughout the system. ITC is searching for an Occupational Therapist passionate about patient recovery in a teamwork environment.

Position

Occupational Therapist – Northside Glancy Inpatient Rehab

Job Responsibilities
  • Assess and examine patients with varying diagnoses according to OT scope of practice.
  • Provide treatment within the OT scope of practice.
  • Teach patients how to use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive apparatus.
  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments/tests.
  • Fabricate splints.
  • Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment for activities of daily living.
  • Co‑coordinate and lead group sessions.
  • Maintain gym area and equipment.
  • Provide education to patients, caregivers and associates regarding OT interventions, safety, community resources and outcomes.
  • Attend and participate in patient care planning meetings.
  • Supervise treatment and documentation of the occupational therapy assistant.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all customers and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Contribute to profits and revenues, including marketing and productivity.
  • Participate in budget development and cost‑saving efforts.
  • Serve on performance improvement teams.
  • Participate in community services.
  • Delegate treatment tasks to COTAs and aides in accordance with OT state practice guidelines.
  • Document care in accordance with regulatory, legal, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program or equivalent OT program.
  • Strong drive to learn and grow; enhance clinical skills while working with an experienced team.

  • Strong assessment, treatment planning and documentation skills.

Physical / Mental / Cognitive Requirements

Must be able to operate a variety of equipment, machines and tools, exert up to 40 pounds occasionally, lift and carry up to 150 pounds with assistance. Requires knowledge of patient care processes, clinical competence, effective communication, problem solving, flexibility, and ability to handle stress.
