ResponsibilitiesPerforms scheduling function in a high volume fully computerized environment. Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices. Requires intimate knowledge of radiological or rehabilitation procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing and other related functions within radiology; or required referrals and knowledge of caveats to all rehabilitation appointments types, specialties and coordination of care. Additional skills required include typing, strong customer service and problem solving.
QualificationsREQUIRED
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- Three (3) years of medical related clerical experience OR an Associate's degree
- Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of the computerized scheduling system
- Associate Degree
- Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently.
- Prior experience in insurance precertification.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Previous experience as a Scheduler II or Scheduler/Secretary
