HR & Payroll Coordinator

The primary responsibility of the HR & Payroll Coordinator is to support payroll processing, employee records administration, recruiting activities, and day-to-day human resources operations. This position serves as a key resource for employees by ensuring payroll accuracy, maintaining HR documentation, coordinating onboarding activities, and supporting talent acquisition efforts across the organization.

Processes payroll activities including wage calculations, overtime, bonuses, shift differentials, and payroll audits to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.

Maintains employee records and HRIS data, including new hires, employee status changes, and terminations.

Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll, pay statements, tax documents, payroll deductions, and compensation adjustments.

Coordinates onboarding activities and processes employment documentation, including offer letters, tax forms, I-9 verification, and related new hire paperwork.

Supports daily human resources operations and serves as a primary point of contact for routine employee questions and HR-related requests.

Sources active and passive candidates through job boards, social media platforms, employee referrals, and professional networking resources.

Reviews resumes, conducts initial candidate screenings, and evaluates applicant qualifications against job requirements.

Schedules interviews and coordinates communications between candidates and hiring managers.

Assists hiring managers throughout the recruiting and selection process.

Maintains confidentiality of employee and candidate information while ensuring compliance with applicable company policies and employment regulations.

Prepares reports, spreadsheets, and documentation related to payroll, recruiting, and HR administration.

Supports HR projects, audits, file maintenance activities, and process improvement initiatives.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. 1 - 2 years of experience processing payroll and supporting human resources functions. Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably Dayforce. Knowledge of payroll procedures, onboarding processes, employee records management, and recruiting practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage confidential information. Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and standard business software applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Preferred:
Experience supporting both payroll and recruiting functions in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Experience with Dayforce HRIS and payroll systems. Knowledge of federal and state employment and payroll regulations. Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruiting platforms.

Consistent interaction with Human Resources team members, Payroll personnel, hiring managers, employees, job applicants, and business leaders to support payroll administration, recruiting activities, onboarding, employee relations, and daily HR operations. Regular communication is required to ensure accurate employee records, efficient hiring processes, and a positive employee experience.

Work Environment:
This position operates primarily in an office environment with regular use of computers, HRIS systems, payroll software, and standard office equipment.
