The Human Resources Generalist plays a vital role in fostering positive employee experience while supporting the organization’s day-to-day people operations. This position provides comprehensive HR support across employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and payroll processing. To thrive/succeed as the Human Resources Generalist, you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with hands-on experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and Microsoft Office systems, including strong Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, employment laws, and HR compliance, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
Your responsibilities as the Human Resources Generalist will include:
Human Resources Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on HR policies, employee relations, benefits, performance management, and workplace matters.
  • Manage and support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities, including candidate coordination, orientation, personnel records, and HRIS administration.
  • Support employee relations and performance management processes, including investigations, corrective actions, performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development.
  • Administer employee benefits and leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leaves.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Develop HR reports, workforce metrics, and analytics while contributing to employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture initiatives.
Payroll Responsibilities
  • Manage accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including review of timekeeping, wage changes, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and system integrity while responding to employee inquiries and resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Coordinate payroll tax compliance, garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other required deductions and filings.
  • Reconcile payroll and support month-end, year-end, and W-2 processes in partnership with Finance and Accounting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee compensation and payroll information.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready HR and payroll records, including I-9 and employment eligibility documentation.
