Overview

AGCO
- Backfill Deskside Support Engineer role in Jackson, MN. This is a backup support role (not full-time or contract).

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site deskside IT support, assisting internal teams, customers, and vendors in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points (preferably CISCO, Riverbed).
  • Assign switch ports to specific VLANs.
  • Patch phone ports to switches as needed.
  • Basic troubleshooting of Avaya VOIP phones (basic configuration).
  • Troubleshoot issues with fiber links between switches; visualize errors and communicate with remote technical teams.
  • Troubleshoot and replace network switch chassis blades when required.
  • Good to have understanding of any Data Center Infrastructure Management application.
  • Periodic visual checks of IDF rooms for cooling and power status (specifically UPS alarms and PDU health).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solar Winds or similar.
  • Networking and operating system basics.
  • Assist network and data center admins (internal, customer, and vendor) during technical troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware such as servers and storage devices.
  • Ability to understand monitoring tool outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of ITSM tools, preferably Service Now.
  • Basic knowledge of backup technologies, preferably EMC Avamar.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows 2003 Server Enterprise/Standard, UNIX & Linux).
  • Basic knowledge of Windows 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003, and File/Print Server.
  • Experience in a service-level agreement (SLA) based environment.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or related area with hands-on experience in deskside/IT infrastructure roles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on operational tasks in data center environments and coordinate with internal, customer, and vendor teams as required.
